SEPA provides a unique offering of national events, leading-edge market research, education, working groups and advisory services to help our members accelerate grid modernization projects.

Job Description

Serving as an integral member of the senior team, the Senior Director of Advisory Services is responsible for ensuring that new clients are secured and products drive positive outcomes for the client.  

This individual has experience leading utilities through the transformation of business processes, organizational definition/change and technology innovation as well as program design for new business models.   The Senior Director will work with utilities in defining a variety of programs (customer, solar, etc.), strategies, and solutions for distributed energy resources.

 

Responsibilities

  • Originate, validate, qualify, close, and execute new Advisory Services engagements

  • Develop and leverage existing relationships to identify new leads and opportunities  

  • Generate and lead change strategies, including organizational change, stakeholder adoption, and communications

  • Construct and define new offerings

  • Assist with writing proposals, defining themes and actions to capture new work  

  • Create and facilitate workshops with clients and produce professional deliverables

  • Author thought leadership pieces

  • Collect and synthesize information and assist in translating this into business and functional requirement documents or roadmaps.

  • Define the appropriate approach for an engagement by putting together the relevant tools

  • Lead engagements (and teams) while providing excellent client relationship management skills

  • Deliver project deliverables and commitments on time and on budget, fulfilling all customer and contractual obligations and requirements

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and transfer amongst other Advisory Services team members

  • Contribute to the annual Advisory Services Operating Plan and Budget that meets strategic and budgetary objectives of the organization

  • Travel up to 75% of time

  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • 8 years of Consulting

  • 5 years of Industry experience in the Power Sector

  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment

  • Experience as an author and presenter on utility and renewable energy topics

  • Experience in delivering complex strategic projects that address multi-faceted issues, working across organizational boundaries, interfacing with senior executives, and working effectively with teams.

  • Experience with community solar, residential programs, electric vehicles, and/or DER program work

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business area, with advanced degree preferred; content specific experience may augment the desired advanced degree
