Senior Regulatory Systems Analyst #56329
Puget Sound Energy’s Pricing and Cost of Service department is looking for a Senior Regulatory Systems Analyst to join our team.
This person performs complex data queries using the company’s multiple database platforms to support regulatory filings and various data requests. This person also prepares, collects, compiles, analyzes, and reports on technical, demographic, and financial data of the utility to serve as a basis for preparation of cost of service, regulatory reporting, rate setting and pricing, and other fiscal planning. This person is also expected to take on greater responsibility over the company’s load research program, sales weather normalization analysis and other statistical analysis and modelling. Ultimately, this person is expected to provide expert testimony or witness assistant support related to these analyses in regulatory proceedings.

Retrieve data from multiple data sources and present them in a logical format.This may involve SAS programming.
Coordinate with IT department to create a solution when data gap exists.Provide on-going support for the tools/templates that were developed.
Provides statistical and analytical support on pricing, rate design and cost allocation for regulatory filings and internal reporting.

Provides summary statistics or qualitative findings from the data that was retrieved.
Participates and provides support for the development of regulatory policy and strategy.
Provides expert testimony or witness assistant support in pricing, rate design and other regulatory matters.
Works cooperatively with staff from other departments to communicate pending or upcoming regulatory proposals and obtains input from others in aligning regulatory proposals with company objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or other applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5 years of utility experience and a good understanding of state regulation of electric and gas utilities.

Proficiency with SAP-BW and SAS Programming
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Master’s degree or higher
Significant knowledge of statistical methods and analyses
Experience in electric and/or gas utility industry operations and planning
