Huaneng Power International, Inc. announced that one 1,000 MW ultra-super critical coal-fired generating unit (Unit 5) of Henan Huaneng Qinbei Power Plant Phase III Project (of which the company owns 60 percent equity interest) completed its trial run recently.

To date, the company's total controlled generation capacity has increased from 59,078.5 MW to 60,078.5 MW, and total equity-based generation capacity has increased from 54,167.4 MW to 54,767.4 MW. The company is one of China 's largest listed power producers.
