(Washington, D.C. February 14, 2017)—The Energy Management Association (EMA) is preparing for accreditation of the Energy Management Professional (EMP) certification program by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This will also enable EMP to attain recognition through the Department of Energy’s Better Building Workforce Program.
The EMP Program features a commissioning-based process that maximizes energy savings and optimizes building performance, enabling EMPs to deliver the rapid ROI and ongoing maintenance and verification benefits that building and facilities operators demand.
As part of the ANSI/DOE process, EMA’s Certification Committee is nearing completion of a new, aligned exam which will be ready for beta testing at CxEnergy 2017 in Orlando, Florida April 25.
To encourage as many candidates as possible to take the new exam, EMA is making available a one-time offer. Currently certified EMPs who pass the beta exam will receive 25 of the 50 mandatory continuing education credits toward their EMP recertification. Candidates who are not EMP certified who pass the exam will be immediately eligible to apply for EMP certification. For the CxEnergy event, the beta exam is being offered free of charge for testing only and the full EMP Seminar & Exam (April 24-25) is offered for the reduced rate of $750. Visit www.CxEnergy.com to sign up for the beta test or full EMP Seminar & Exam.
CxEnergy is the only conference and expo dedicated exclusively to building commissioning and energy management. The event also features networking events, a 32-session technical program and exhibit hall with more than 40 companies that provide products and services to the industry. CxEnergy is presented by the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), and EMA.
