New Hydrokinetic Power Source Ready for Commercialization
August 11, 2017 – Memphis, Tennessee: GT Hydrokinetic (GTH) announces the creation of a unique and game-changing hydroelectric energy system that will produce “Clean” electricity on a large-scale and sustainable basis. The Patented GTH system uses a Closed-Loop Fluid Drive system that transmits the hydrokinetic energy to the electric generator (turbine) without a mechanical gearing system. The GTH Turbine will use river and ocean currents to generate significant amounts of renewable energy. Each GTH Turbine deployed in an ocean current can produce more than 10 megawatts of electricity, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. GTH has invested many years toward the development of this technology and has completed a successful demonstration of the performance in the Mississippi River.
GTH is confident that this patented technology can be utilized to provide clean baseload utility scale power to the world. One of the biggest advantages of the GTH Turbine is its simplicity and low cost of maintaining the units.
