Puget Sound Energy’s Pricing and Cost of Service Group within the Regulatory Affairs Department is looking for a Manager Pricing & Cost of Service to join our team.  For more information or to apply, please search for #25722 at pse.com/careers.

 

Over 1.1 million electric customers and 800,000 natural gas customers throughout the greater Puget Sound area look to PSE to provide safe, dependable and affordable energy services.  The Manager of Pricing & Cost of Service leads a team of experienced analysts in the development and regulatory approval of the rates that fairly and affordably recover the cost of providing these services to our customers.  This role serves as one of PSE’s primary ratemaking experts before the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, key constituents, customer groups and in a variety of other venues where there may be ratemaking or other regulatory considerations.  The ideal candidate for this position will have a blend of ratemaking expertise, industry acumen and strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to creatively and effectively apply these qualities in PSE’s relentless drive to be its customers’ energy partner of choice.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and directs the preparation of regulatory filings, reports, and rate case testimony.

  • Coordinates and reviews work product prepared by others in the department.

  • Oversees the development of pricing and be part of the team that develops regulatory policy and strategy.

  • Provides expert testimony in pricing, rate design and regulatory matters.

  • Negotiates the details of rate design, rate spread and other cost-of-service issues with external customers, agencies and regulators.

  • < >orates with other company leads on strategic pricing and regulatory issues.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, or applicable field and ten years of regulatory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Strong management and communication skills.

  • Thorough understanding of utility economics.

  • Understanding on the technical areas of responsibility and general understanding of the fundamentals of revenue requirement, power costs and related issues.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA, MBA, MA, PE or experience in public policy. 

  • Thorough understanding of state utility rules and regulations.

  • Knowledge of SAP.
