Job Description


This position serves as a personal assistant to the Power Marketing Manager and provides secretarial and administrative support to the staff. The incumbent applies a high degree of ability, initiative, and willingness to perform duties of responsibility which involve Power Marketing's operating programs and overall objectives.


The incumbent uses electronic systems consisting of hardware and software components in an office environment to develop letters, memos, textual documents, reports, spreadsheets, graphics and electronic mail, and to store, retrieve, manipulate, transfer, compute and/or print information.  Receives all correspondence for the office, and based on own judgment and knowledge of office functions and assignments determines which the supervisor should see, such as complimentary, complaints, procedural; which the incumbent can prepare the responses required; and which the subordinate office supervisors should see.  Orders supplies & services using a government-issued credit card; logs purchase requests, verifies correct work order numbers, ensures appropriate funding is available, tracks orders, verifies delivery and rectifies disputes, and maintains accurate records and credit card logs for all purchases.  Makes travel arrangements and hotel reservations for supervisor and staff, ensuring that reservations and advances of funds are received in time.

  1. Knowledge of general office automation software, practices and procedures;   proficiency in typing as required.
  2. Ability to research, interpret, and apply administrative policies, guidelines, and directives, and skills to evaluate complex situations, make sound recommendations, and take appropriate actions.
  3. Knowledge of the federal budgetary and procurement processes as it pertains to the requirements of a Government Purchase Card holder.
  4. Skills in the area of travel, office management, and administrative procedures.
