Our Ideal Candidate: Excellent opportunity for a self starting, highly motivated, team player with an outgoing personality needed to perform customer metering activities and interact with customers i.e- installation, maintenance, calibration and monthly reads of customer billing meters.
Position Summary: This position maintains and troubleshoots issues for the Infrastructure needs of Cleveland Thermal. Furthermore, this position ensures that the three processes offered to the client; steam distribution, electrical generation and chilled water distribution will meet the client’s needs and demands for a clean and reliable source of energy 365 days a year. This position maintains and troubleshoots issues for control systems, metering devices and pressure monitoring equipment.
Must be able to work in various locations within the distribution system. i.e.- customer buildings, powerhouses, utility tunnels, outdoors.
Fabricate, assemble and program chilled water and steam flow metering racks.
Install chilled water and steam billing meters at customer locations.
Document and perform routine preventative maintenance on billing meters.
Take and document accurate monthly billing meter readings.
Document and perform seasonal calibrations and rearranging of electronic differential pressure steam flow and chilled water billing meters.
Document and perform troubleshooting and repair or replacement of customer billing meters.
Calculation and preparation of billing adjustments resulting from metering failures.
Specify and design of steam and chilled water billing meter installations, including drafting fabrication drawings.
Document, report and abate observed instances of un-metered product.
Requirements: Education: Vocational or high school graduate, ideally with formal accredited apprenticeship or equivalent trades training; Associates degree or trade school a plus.
Experience: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot various components; ability to utilize/understand configuration drawings.
Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to interact with various personality types. Strong math, written communication, reading and comprehension skills. Computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. May require advanced knowledge of AutoCAD. Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder, wiring, mechanical piping, HVAC, control and logic diagrams. proficiently.
Licensing: Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a manual shift vehicle.
Working Conditions: Works in a power plant environment, customer locations in various areas in and around downtown Cleveland. This will include exposure to large machinery, tight spaces and hazardous conditions associated with these environments. Exposed to steam, electricity/high voltage, hazardous chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat, wet, humid and noisy environment. Must wear hard hat, safety toe shoes/boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and leather gloves and any other appropriate safety equipment when required; must be OSHA compliant. This job requires standing and walking for long periods of time. Must be able to grasp, reach, twist, bend, and kneel. Job requires driving company vehicle from location to location within the Cleveland Thermal system. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
