McCormick & Co., Inc., and Constellation Energy have achieved net-zero-energy status for the spice-maker's 363,000-square-foot distribution center in Belcamp, Md.
The distribution center began generating as much or more energy than its operations require through energy-saving measures and a 1.8 MW solar array that Constellation put on the roof last year.
McCormick pays less than market rates for the power.
Constellation also has solar arrays on a McCormick spice mill and the company's corporate headquarters, both in Maryland.
