TMG Consulting Hosts Largest Annual Utility Forum Virtually

Posted Oct 16, 2020

October 16, 2020, AUSTIN, TX -- TMG Consulting held its annual Utility Forum virtually last week where more than 500 utility professionals gathered over two days to hear industry insights from over a dozen utilities, including ConEd, Xcel Energy, Liberty, and City of Lubbock.  Having the sponsorship support of 20 solution providers, TMG hosted a state-of-the-art virtual experience with live sessions, Q&A, virtual sponsor booths, and a live music experience at the Gibson Guitars virtual showroom.

With the theme of ‘Bringing The Digital Utility To Life’, experts throughout the industry spent time diving into key utility challenges involving The Customer/Digital Engagement, Analytics & Data-Driven Utility Transformation, Cloud Evaluation & Adoption, and many more.

"Like every part of our lives these days, utilities are having to adapt to deal with challenges that are new, unique, or extraordinarily difficult - this is no different during an implementation.  My utility – Con Edison and Orange and Rockland - managed to mitigate the challenge as seen in our industry's CIS replacements by our proactive planning efforts months prior to kickoff, affording us the opportunity to pivot once the pandemic hit.   Planning takes time, either way, you either pay now or pay later!”, said Janette Espino, General Manager – Customer Energy Solutions.  “The TMG Forum provided a platform for us to share this knowledge and other lessons learned with utilities of all types and sizes. Forums like this are invaluable sources of knowledge for utilities, and I'm happy to have played a part."

“As an innovative company, Open believes that TMG Utility Forum has clearly depicted the digital trends for the industry”, says Hernando Parrott, President at Open International. “We are happy to be a part of the conversation in enabling utilities to achieve higher customer experience and developing new business models through flexible solutions with a holistic approach.”

“This was TMG’s Fourth Annual collaboration conference and I am thrilled to see unprecedented participation levels from both Utilities and Sponsors”, added TMG CEO, Mario Bauer. “The support and participation have doubled in size every year including this year.  This year we had over 550 participants and covered current challenges and lessons learned across the industry from large IOUs to the mid-market and smaller municipal organizations.  We look forward to another successful meeting/collaboration in Scottsdale next fall!”

The TMG Virtual Forum is a component to TMG's Digital Utility Collaborative, a community of utilities, solutions providers and systems integrators focused on innovation and best practices through research, market analysis, webinars, and events.
