Unicorn Systems has been selected as a supplier of the next generation Regional Nomination Platform (RNP 2.0). It is based on the latest generation of Damas MMS:E platform and brings improved user experience, higher security and top performance for transmission system operators and HVDC interconnectors. The energy market is entering a new era where technology is becoming a key driver. Winning the tender and continuation of partnership with National Grid, RTE, Nemo Link and Energinet confirms the leadership of Unicorn Systems in the field of IT solutions for the energy sector.
"We are excited that Unicorn Systems will continue to play a major role in the "Channel Region", i.e. the connection of Great Britain and continental Europe, and in the HVDC domain in general. Our solution is designed to meet the growing needs of the ever-evolving energy market, with its preparations based on real experience from the operation of the original platform, also having worked intensively with its users to make RNP 2.0 meet their needs as much as possible," says Jan Konrád, Sales Director of Unicorn Systems and adds: “It is already a third major contract won in this region, which once again confirms our position as a significant provider of solutions for the energy segment.”
Innovations powered by AI
The regional nomination platform (RNP 2.0) of the new generation will also bring significant innovations thanks to the advanced use of artificial intelligence. A key role in this process is played by the Unicorn AI Research Center operated in close cooperation with Unicorn University. Artificial intelligence is employed e.g. to analyze large data sets or predict potential problems. Thanks to this, the new solution will not only ensure a reliable operation of critical infrastructure, but will also push the boundaries of technological possibilities in the energy sector.
Service Desk as part of the solution
In addition to the innovative platform, the supplied solution will also include operational support in the form of a professional Service Desk team. It provides an efficient and fast assistance for a number of energy systems across the entire European market, with a team of operators available 24/7 throughout the year, communicating in the main world languages and, thanks to technological erudition, able to speak with clients on a technical level in case of unexpected situations.
Flexibility for the future
The regional nomination platform (RNP 2.0) strengthens a key role of Unicorn Systems in the field of European energy. The new solution will continue to manage cross-border capacity and nominations for submarine links between Great Britain and continental Europe, including the IFA, IFA 2, Nemo Link, North Sea Link and Viking Link interconnectors. Additionally, its flexible architecture will allow for easy inclusion of additional interconnects in the future.
"Over the past more than 15 years, we have gained expertise in specialized HVDC systems through extensive projects, ranging from capacity management systems, across auction and nomination platforms, through to dispatch systems. Thanks to the Unicorn Enterprise Platform and a number of ready-to-use functional modules, the Damas MMS solution has evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem of interconnected applications for various purposes. Their mutual combinability ensures flexibility and expandability for the future challenges that await us in the European energy sector," adds Jan Konrád.
