Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, construction and architecture firm, announced the promotion of Mike Wagner to director of transmission and distribution EPC, reinforcing its commitment to delivering value-driven project execution across the power delivery market.
With a 16-year career in the renewable generation and transmission and distribution sectors, Wagner brings deep operational insight and an unwavering focus on performance, safety and team development. Over the past 12 years, Wagner has been a central figure in expanding transmission and distribution work within the firm's Construction Group, and has served as an engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project manager since 2018. His work has shaped many of the firm’s most successful and complex transmission projects.
“Mike is deeply committed to mentoring and developing his teams, fostering an environment of trust and high performance,” says Andy Jarvis, senior vice president. “Known for his innovative problem-solving skills, he excels at optimizing results and simplifying complex challenges. His ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally, through effective communication and collaboration is a testament to his leadership.”
Wagner earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Pittsburg State University. As director, he will focus on strengthening the group’s operational efficiency, advancing its strategic positioning and creating greater value for clients through integrated EPC delivery.
“I’m honored to step into this role and build upon the success we’ve achieved in the EPC space,” Wagner says. “Our mission is to make our clients successful. We are committed to being more than a consultant, an engineer or a contractor. We are a partner, and we lead. We’re building the future — with smarter delivery, tighter partnerships and tomorrow’s workforce.”
Wagner’s appointment furthers integration of engineering, procurement and construction strategies at Burns & McDonnell, safely delivering resilient, efficient and effective critical infrastructure for transmission and distribution clients.
