Unicorn Systems is pleased to announce that we’ve been awarded a new contract by Fingrid, the Finnish transmission system operator, for the delivery of its Balancing Market Management System.
The decision followed a demanding two-stage procurement process that included detailed negotiations and a comprehensive system demonstration. After a thorough evaluation, Fingrid selected Unicorn Systems and our flagship solution, Damas MMS:E, as the most suitable offering.
The solution in question includes:
- Balancing Capacity Market Module
- Balancing Energy Market Module
- Transmission Capacity Module
This win marks the 10th system to be delivered by Unicorn Systems in the Nordic region, confirming our strong and growing position as a trusted energy market supplier in Northern Europe. Our continued success in the Nordics reflects both the robustness of our technology and the deep market expertise of our teams.

Damas MMS:E is a modular product built within a microservice architecture, created to meet the dynamic needs of electricity market operators. It’s the most used product of its kind across Europe, offering configurability, reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance. Damas MMS:E is developed using the Unicorn Universe Digital-Twin Construction Kit (uuDck) based on the Unicorn Mobile-First IoT-ready Cloud AI-Boosted Architecture.
Fingrid
Fingrid is a Finnish public limited liability company responsible for electricity transmission in Finland’s high-voltage transmission system. Fingrid’s nationwide grid is an integral part of the power system in Finland. The transmission grid is the high-voltage trunk network that covers the entire country. Major power plants, industrial plants, and regional electricity distribution networks are connected to the grid. The Finnish power system is part of the inter-Nordic power system, which is connected to the system in Continental Europe by means of high-voltage direct current transmission links. There are also high-voltage direct current links from Finland to Estonia.
