Unicorn Systems introduces a breakthrough innovation in energy certification management. The Certigy Registry platform, used by leading European certificate issuers, is undergoing a major modernisation that enables a transition from traditional monthly certificates to granular certificates with time precision down to one hour or even 15 minutes.
This technological shift paves the way for verifying and purchasing clean energy at the exact time it is consumed — an essential step toward achieving the vision of 24/7 carbon-neutral energy and better aligning renewable generation with real-time demand.
The modernisation of the Certigy Registry is made possible by funding from the U.S.-based LevelTen Energy and the GC Trading Alliance. The project is part of a global trend supporting the introduction of granular certificates that reflect the actual time and grid location of energy production and consumption. This transformation will enable energy buyers and providers to plan, validate, and optimise their use of renewable resources more effectively.
