Army Gen. Wesley Clark (Ret.) says the solar-power industry combines all the elements needed to get the U.S. economy growing again.
At PV America West in San Jose on Monday, Clark told delegates that he sees the industry as able to take on a central part in the effort.
"We can't do it by relying on consumption as the engine of the economy, but we can grow and we can grow quickly," Clark said. "Solar is right at the center of this growth. Why? Jobs, finance structuring, everything about the modern economy comes to a sharp focus when you look at solar energy."
