Operators at Southern Nuclear's Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Augusta, Ga., brought the facility's Unit 1 back online Monday afternoon after working through a water pump issue that took it offline Saturday.
Feed-water pumps provide water to the steam generators.
"The unit was taken offline Saturday, April 14, at approximately 1:30 p.m. ET in accordance with nuclear procedures and processes," the company said.
Last month, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved two more nuclear units for Vogtle, the first nuclear installations approved in the U.S. in 30 years.
