Combined heat and power, one of the young sectors in industrial power generation, got a boost yesterday from Energy Secretary Steven Chu.
Chu said during a hearing on the Department of Energy's proposed 2013 budget that the agency is an enthusiastic supporter of the on-site power generation technology, and he said increased energy efficiency, lower cost and less strain on the electric grid are among its benefits.
