U.S. and Iraqi officials have reaffirmed their commitment to joint cooperation, including electricity and the protection of critical energy infrastructure.
During the meeting at the Department of Energy in Washington, U.S. officials said they would stay committed to supporting Iraq's electricity sector through training in operations and maintenance, providing spare parts, and helping to develop the Iraq Electricity Master Plan and to implement it.
The U.S. said it has contributed $4.6 billion to the Iraqi power sector and $2.1 billion to the oil sector since 2003.
