- Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) and Alliant Energy announced they have released all line construction and tree-trimming contractors to go east and assist in Sandy restoration efforts.
- The companies have retained some of their workers, however, fearing the possibility of high winds in lower Michigan and eastern Wisconsin; WPS says it will evaluate how much extra help they can send east after Sandy settles down.
- Alliant has dispatched 80 employees from Interstate Power and Light Company’s Iowa territory and another 30 from Wisconsin Power and Light Company to help customers of Central Hudson Gas and Electric.
