AUSTIN, Tex. —

January 6, 2022 – ESC Spectrum, industry leader in air emissions monitoring and compliance, has acquired Monitoring Solutions, further growing the company’s footprint in the Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) market. The acquired company will operate as Monitoring Solutions, an ESC Spectrum Company. Monitoring Solutions has been helping customers meet demands for air pollution monitoring and reporting due to Part 60 and Part 75 regulatory requirements since 1997.

“We are excited to have the Monitoring Solutions team join us as we continue to expand our reach into new regions and industries,” said Jeff Rabensteine, President of ESC Spectrum. “Monitoring Solutions culture aligns perfectly with our customer-centered approach, and we are both committed to high-quality products and expert services. I’m confident that the addition of their products, services, and experience will help us continue to grow and be recognized as a best-in-class provider of CEMS hardware, software, and services in the U.S.”

ESC Spectrum delivers best-in-class products and services for air emissions compliance to customers in various industries, including electric power, petroleum, chemical, glass, and more. The company is the leading provider of data acquisition systems (DAS) in the U.S, offering a comprehensive end-to-end solution that includes software, hardware, and services. Products include StackVision™ and Prism® DAS, the 8864 Data Controller, QAInsight™, FlexReports™, and RATAView™. Their services provide Reporting, Regulatory, IT and Engineering expertise. The company supplies CEMS design and integration, maintenance, calibration, repairs, training, stack testing, and more.

ESC was founded in 1969 with an initial focus on ambient air monitoring, then expanded into many different vertical markets, including continuous emissions monitoring. In 2018, ESC acquired Spectrum Systems, Inc., a CEMS services company. Spectrum certified the first Part 75 CEMS in the U.S over 35 years ago, and since then, their experts have delivered over 1000+ CEMS systems to customers. ESC legally changed its name to ESC Spectrum in 2020.

Monitoring Solutions was formed in 1997 through a buyout of the continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) division of Enviroplan. In 2019, the company acquired Optimal Air Testing Services, Inc., a Wyoming-based provider of stack and source testing to support compliance, guarantee, and engineering services. Monitoring Solutions offers its customers and the marketplace competitive air emissions monitoring and compliance services across the Northwest and beyond. It also provides Part 60 & 75 facilities with the CEMDAS and COMDAS Data Acquisition Systems.

“I began the company to provide high-quality CEMS software and hardware to a variety of industries with an emphasis on unparalleled customer service and competitive pricing,” said Monitoring Solutions President Mike Sroka. “I am certain that this partnership will ensure the future of our customers by providing them with excellent support for their current needs, as well as offer them new opportunities to enhance their CEM programs.”
