The Utility Imagery & Inspection Consortium (UIIC) will be holding its inaugural Summer Symposium this August in Fort Worth, TX. The UIIC Symposium, Setting A Solid Foundation: Utility Imagery & Inspection Operations for the 21st Century will be held August 23-24, 2022, and is being hosted by Oncor Electric Delivery at its Fort Worth location.
On August 23rd, the event will kick off with a tour of Oncor facilities where attendees can look at how imagery & inspection (I&I) practices are impacting day-to-day utility operations. Later that evening, attendees will enjoy an evening at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
Thought leaders from the emerging utility I&I space will then gather for the 1-day Symposium on August 24, where there will be featured workshops that continue the dialogue from the ongoing UIIC Centers of Excellence (CoEs). The Symposium will also feature morning and afternoon sessions led by utility thought leaders that will speak about how I&I technologies and practices are creating value in their business.
Utilities will come away with actionable insights that will benefit key areas such as reliability, safety, compliance, and financial performance. This Symposium will benefit utility leaders and professionals responsible for the maintenance & management of infrastructure, including business processes and analytics.
It will also be the first in-person meeting for the UIIC Advisory Board, made up of 12 utilities that are dedicated to the success of the consortium.
Ken Maness, Vice President of TMG Research and UIIC Executive Director, commented on the UIIC and the upcoming Summit: “We are very thankful to Oncor for hosting this event and excited to finally get this group together after our long travel pause! The engagement and willingness to share best practices among our participating utilities and solution providers have been extremely encouraging as we look back on the monthly Center of Excellence virtual meetings. The Symposium provides the opportunity for all of our participants to come together to share experiences and drive best practices forward.”
“All utilities are challenged by the fast-changing landscape. From data sets and analytics to the use of satellites and drones, best practices must be shared and learned among the utility community. Oncor is excited to host the Summer Symposium, and we encourage other utilities to gather with us in Fort Worth to do their part to further the conversation.” says Hagen Haentsch, Director of Oncor’s Distribution Operations Center.
Registration for the inaugural UIIC Summit will begin on May 10th, 2022, and continue through the start of the event. Further details can be found HERE
