Greg Chamberlain, Former Xcel Energy Executive, Named Utilen's Chief Strategy and Growth Officer

MINNESOTA  - Utilen, the Coordination Engine™ for the electric utility supply chain, today announced that Greg Chamberlain has been named Chief Strategy and Growth Officer. Chamberlain joined Utilen as a strategic advisor in 2025, and he now steps into a full executive role as the platform enters the market.

Chamberlain spent more than 24 years in utility leadership at Xcel Energy, one of the largest combined electric and gas utilities in the United States. His executive roles spanned operations, regulatory, and new technology as General Manager of Power Generation, Regional Vice President of Regulatory and Government Affairs, and Vice President of Clean Fuels. He has led the build-out of a major transmission capital portfolio, run plant fleet operations, and navigated the regulatory and legislative environments that shape every decision a utility makes. Prior to joining Xcel Energy, he had a successful technical sales and marketing career in industrial markets. He brings to Utilen's executive team the perspective the platform is ultimately judged by - that of the utility itself.

From advisor to operator

Chamberlain's transition follows months inside Utilen's strategy and product development as an advisor, a period that included the build-out of the company's leadership bench.

“Greg has spent months inside our strategy, our product, and our pipeline. He knows exactly what we have, and he chose to leave the advisory seat and take the operating seat,” said Sean Dunham, CEO of Utilen. “There are very few people who have led a significant transmission system buildout, run generation fleets, led regulatory and government affairs, and driven new energy technology inside a major utility. Greg has done all four. When he guides a customer through implementation, he is not learning their world. He comes from it.”

“Utilities are being asked to deliver the largest infrastructure buildout in generations while meeting increased affordability, capital project execution, and regulatory obligations,” said Chamberlain. “I spent my career inside those constraints, and I know that a platform only matters if it delivers on all three. My responsibility at Utilen is to make sure it does, and that Utilen is an essential element of the utility affordability and capital execution toolbox.”

A role built around the customer

As Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, Chamberlain's mandate is deliberately customer-facing. He will lead Utilen's go-to-market strategy, shaping where the company aligns, with whom, and in what order, and he will work directly with utilities and their supply-chain partners as they bring the platform into their operations. His measure of success is simple: every customer sees clear, demonstrable value on the shortest possible timeline.

Utilities engaging with Utilen will work with an executive who has lived their constraints, from capital discipline to regulatory scrutiny to affordability obligations, and whose job inside the company is to represent them.

Chamberlain holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Momentum ahead of launch

Chamberlain's appointment continues a deliberate twelve-month build across every layer of the company. Utilen has appointed Sean Dunham as Chief Executive Officer, Mark Mikes, President of Hubbell's Electrical Solutions segment, to its Board of Directors, and former Siemens Gamesa and GE Vernova executive Mark Albenze to its advisory board.

The composition is intentional. Utilen's board, leadership, and advisory group now span the utility, manufacturer, and capital perspectives of the supply chain the platform coordinates, with executives who currently operate in the industry sitting alongside those who built it.
