Dominion and Lockheed Martin have announced the availability of the EDGE Grid Side Efficiency solution for utilities.

The companies say that the technology "EDGE is a modular and adaptive conservation voltage management solution enabling utilities to deploy incremental grid-side energy management that requires no behavioral changes or purchases by end customers," according to Transmission and Distribution World.

Old Dominion says EDGE "leverages advanced metering and distribution automation technologies and is intelligent, reliable and self adjusting, bringing visibility to grid and quick response to customer demands."

It has three software compnents, one each for planning, managing and validating.
