IEEE has published a new standard and launched three new standards-development activities to enhance the global communications and distribution-automation (DA) capabilities of the smart grid.
The standard and activities are designed to enable smart-grid development by empowering greater consumer choice in energy use, improving the reliability of power generation and distribution and more efficiently meeting skyrocketing power demand.
