Sensus FlexNet chosen for San Bernard Electric’s meter network system

  • San Bernard Electric announced on Thursday that it will adopt the Sensus FlexNet system to improve its meter reading technology. 
  • Sensus is installing a utility infrastructure of 24,000 iCon meters with lower latency and a quicker response time to be completed by the end of the year. 
  • The switch to Sensus FlexNet marks a break in the utility network technology used by San Bernard Electric after twenty years of using the same service.

“San Bernard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SBEC) has chosen the Sensus FlexNet(TM) system as the foundational technology for a comprehensive communications network that the utility will deploy to help ensure excellent service for its 16,000 members. The co-op serves a seven-county territory near Houston, Texas. . . ."
