- Following a bruising fight over net metering policies, Arizona's solar industry believes it may avoid new property taxes for leased rooftop solar equipment.

- House Bill 2595 would support the revenue department by imposing a property tax on leased solar equipment (Arizona Public Service, which wants higher fees on rooftop solar, says it isn't backing the bill). A solar industry-supported bill, Senate Bill 1467, doesn't appear to be moving.
The solar industry in the state appears confident the issue over taxing leased rooftop solar will be worked out. Even so, the debate highlights the tensions over rooftop solar.
