There's no escaping it.
Donald Trump threatening a "major class action" against Florida Power & Light over their "disgusting" utility poles outside of his $150 golf resort seems... like a story fabricated by The Onion.
But it's not, and if you want a few more eyebrow-raising doses of reality, take a look at our most read news of the week. From the all-too-inevitable overhaul of utility business models to FBI investigations and jellyfish invasions, it's all so very bizarrely real:
- Donald Trump threatens to sue Florida Power & Light: Trump called FPL "one of the worst" utilities in the country.
- Mastermind of Obama's power plant rules to resign: The White House's chief adviser on energy and climate issues spearheaded the drive to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
- 94% of utility execs predict business model upheaval: Perhaps more surprisingly, the vast majority of those surveyed said distributed generation is an opportunity, rather than a threat.
- FBI investigating Ark. grid attacks : The FBI and ATF are offering a reward for information regarding attacks on a substation and power lines.
- Nuclear plant shut down by jellyfish invasion: The 1,400-megawatt Oskarshamn reactor is one of the world's largest, but these jellyfish (and an animated video) may make it one of the most famous.
